Early Beginnings: Starkey Ranch and West Pasco County

In the early 20th century, the Starkey family played a pivotal role in shaping Trinity and the surrounding areas. Jay B. Starkey Sr., a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, bought an expansive 16,000-acre ranch in the 1930s. This ranch would later become a significant part of Trinity's history.

 

Over time, the Starkey family contributed to the development of west Pasco County, donating land for parks and schools, and championing environmental conservation. The Starkey Ranch, which once served as a working cattle ranch, has now been transformed into a master-planned community that preserves the area's natural beauty.

 

 

The Birth of Trinity

The Trinity community was named by Dr. James Gills, a renowned eye surgeon, who purchased thousands of acres in the area in the 1980s. The name "Trinity" was inspired by the Christian concept of the Holy Trinity, as Dr. Gills envisioned a community built upon the principles of family, faith, and education.
