Pasco County Considering Tent City as an Option for Growing Homeless Issue

TRINITY, FL - Homelessness in Pasco County, Florida is on the rise due to a combination of factors. The COVID-19 pandemic and the skyrocketing costs of housing have left many people struggling and unable to maintain their homes. This has resulted in a significant increase in the number of homeless individuals in the county. According to Greg Armstrong, the chairman of Pasco’s Continuum of Care, the county is now dealing with thousands of homeless people, compared to just a few hundred in the past. The crisis of homelessness in Pasco County is so severe that the county is considering setting up a tent city to provide basic necessities like bathrooms, showers, and heated structures to those in need.
