A Friday morning domestic dispute inside the Wesley Chapel neighborhood of The Ridge at Wiregrass Ranch escalated into a stabbing and a shooting that left three people hospitalized, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say a 55-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman, and an 18-year-old man were all involved, that they knew each other, and that there is no broader threat to the surrounding community.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the Chesapeake Bay Drive area of Wesley Chapel at about 8:37 a.m. on Friday for a domestic-related incident. Based on preliminary information released by the agency, an argument among people who knew each other escalated quickly, ending with one person stabbed and another shot.

According to investigators, the 55-year-old man stabbed the 53-year-old woman during the dispute. An 18-year-old man then shot the man who had carried out the stabbing. All three were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions were not immediately released.

The sheriff’s office characterized the encounter as “an altercation amongst known parties” and described the situation as a domestic incident, but has not publicly disclosed how the three people are connected. No names have been released, and the agency has not announced any arrests or charges. WTSP first reported the ages of the three people involved, citing information from the sheriff’s office.

Brief Heightened Security at Nearby School

The address sits a short distance from Wiregrass Elementary School, which briefly tightened access while deputies worked the scene. WTSP reported that the campus operated under a controlled-campus status during the response, and that the school’s principal sent a note to families addressing the precaution.

“There was no threat to our school, students, or staff,” the principal wrote, according to WTSP.

Pasco County Schools officials, speaking to Pasco News Online, similarly said the incident was not connected to the school and that classroom operations were not affected.

Where the Incident Happened

The Ridge at Wiregrass Ranch is a gated community tucked between State Road 56 and County Line Road, just east of the Wiregrass Ranch and Cypress Creek corridors that have driven much of Wesley Chapel’s recent residential growth. Chesapeake Bay Drive runs through the heart of the subdivision, near the community’s clubhouse and amenity areas.

Domestic-related incidents in Pasco County are typically handled by the sheriff’s major crimes investigators when serious injuries occur, with follow-up reports released as the investigation progresses.

What Is Not Yet Known

The sheriff’s office has not released the names of those involved, the specific relationships among the three people, the circumstances that led to the stabbing, or whether anyone is in custody. The conditions of the woman and the two men also have not been disclosed. Officials said an update will be provided when more information becomes available.

How the Story Developed

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office issued a community alert on Friday afternoon describing the incident as a domestic situation among known parties. Local television and online outlets, including WTSP and Pasco News Online, followed up with additional details drawn from the same preliminary briefing.

Because the case is active, agency officials have asked that anyone with information related to the investigation contact the Pasco Sheriff’s Office or submit a tip through the agency’s online tips portal.
