Pasco County Is Hiring: On-the-Spot Interviews at July 30 Career Fair in Dade City
County managers will conduct interviews on the spot at a July 30 career fair in Dade City, with openings from 911 dispatchers and firefighters to bus drivers and engineers.
Pasco County Government is holding an in-person career fair on Thursday, July 30, where hiring managers will conduct on-the-spot interviews for dozens of open county jobs — meaning residents who show up prepared could walk out with a real shot at a stable, benefits-eligible position in just one morning.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Pasco County Extension Services, 36702 State Road 52 in Dade City, according to a county announcement. Because managers will be interviewing right there, the county is urging attendees to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume.

What jobs are open
The county says it is hiring across a wide range of departments right now — a mix of public-safety, transportation, infrastructure and parks roles that keep local services running. Openings being promoted for the fair include:
- 911 dispatchers
- Firefighters and paramedics
- Correctional officer trainees
- Public works and equipment operators
- GoPasco bus drivers
- Engineers
- Field inspectors
- Utility positions
- Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources jobs
The breadth matters for local job seekers: the list spans entry-level trainee roles that don't require prior experience alongside skilled and technical positions, so residents at very different points in their careers can find something to interview for the same day.
Why it's worth the trip
County jobs typically come with the kind of stability and benefits that are harder to find in many private-sector openings — a draw for families across Pasco who want dependable local work close to home. The county is pitching the roles as a chance to join what it calls one of the top workplaces in the country.
The on-the-spot interview format is the real advantage here. Instead of applying online and waiting weeks to hear back, candidates can meet the people doing the hiring face to face, ask questions, and make an impression the same morning.
Arrive early in professional attire, bring several printed copies of your resume, and be ready to talk specifics about the roles that interest you. Because managers are interviewing on-site, treat the visit like the interview it may become — not just a browse.
Before you go
The fair is open to the public, and no separate registration was announced — residents can simply attend during the 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. window. Those who can't make it, or who want to review the full list of current openings, pay ranges and requirements ahead of time, can find county job details at MyPasco.net.
For anyone weighing a career change, the timing is tight but the barrier to entry is low: it costs nothing to attend, and a single morning in Dade City could turn into a job offer.
