PASCO COUNTY, FL — The offices of Tax Collector Mike Fasano made this summer a season of giving by raising $22,500 for the Pasco County School District, as well as certain charter schools. The funds were raised specifically for the Assist, Believe & Care (ABC) Program, which aims to support students and families facing financial challenges.

The ABC Program is a vital initiative designed to assist students and their families who may be struggling financially, particularly when these challenges impact academic performance. Over the years, the tax collector’s office has been a consistent supporter of this program, donating thousands of dollars.

"In the midst of economic uncertainties and the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the ABC Program serves as a lifeline for many families," Fasano stated. "Our offices are thrilled to have raised $22,500 in July to offer timely assistance to students and their families."

Ten elementary schools in Pasco County each received a $2,000 donation, while five local charter schools were gifted $500 each. Donations were either hand-delivered by staff from the tax collector's office or sent via letter to the following schools:

  • Cox Elementary School, Dade City

  • Lacoochee Elementary School, Lacoochee

  • West Zephyrhills Elementary School, Zephyrhills

  • Woodland Elementary School, Zephyrhills

  • Lake Myrtle Elementary School, Land O’ Lakes

  • Mary Giella Elementary School, Spring Hill

  • Gulfside Elementary School, Holiday

  • Hudson Primary School, Hudson

  • Sunray Elementary School, Holiday

  • Calusa Elementary School, New Port Richey

  • Dayspring Academy, Port Richey

  • Athenian Academy, New Port Richey

  • Pepin Academy of Pasco, New Port Richey

  • Learning Lodge Academy, New Port Richey

  • Academy at the Farm, Dade City

School leaders have expressed deep gratitude for the support. "This generous donation is a wonderful testament to the care and concern our community has for its children," said Principal Latoya Jordan of Lacoochee Elementary School.
