A fire that began at a structure on Tyndall Road in San Antonio quickly spread into a large brush fire Saturday afternoon near the Mirada subdivision, based on a review of public safety activity in the area.
Pasco Fire Rescue responded to the scene and worked for hours to bring the fire under control. Florida Division of Forestry firefighters also assisted in the response, and Pasco Sheriff’s Office helicopters were seen making water bucket drops as crews battled the expanding fire.
The fire has now been extinguished. No additional information about injuries or property damage was immediately available, and the cause remains unknown.
The incident comes as the area faces very dry conditions, with windy weather creating an increased risk for fires to spread rapidly. Residents in and around Wesley Chapel, San Antonio, and nearby communities should use extra caution outdoors and avoid any activity that could start a fire.
Wesley Chapel Community will continue following the story as more details become available through official agencies or a review of public records. For more local news and updates, visit www.wesleychapelcommunity.com and follow Wesley Chapel Community on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
